Medicare Recipients to Receive $250 Tax-Free Rebate
Posted on Tue, Jun 08, 2010
Starting in mid-June 2010 a special rebate check will be mailed to Medicare recipients as part of the Affordable Care Act to help pay for prescription drug costs. If you are a Medicare recipient who has already reached the "donut hole" or prescription drug plan coverage gap, you will receive this tax-free rebate by mail as long as you do not already receive Medicare Extra Help in paying for your prescription drugs. Individuals receiving Medicare Extra Help will not receive a rebate check. All others will receive this rebate automatically without any action on your part. You do not need to provide any information by phone, mail or otherwise to receive your check. If you do not receive your rebate check, you can contact Medicare at 1-800-MEDICARE.
